Flat Roof & Basement Waterproofing
Our client – Trident Building Consultancy – instructed us to undertake an extensive survey to these Grade II listed residential and retail shop outlet buildings in the heart of central London, and to provide detailed reports on dampness and water ingress to flat roof decks.
METHODOLOGY
The flat roof decks were found to be decayed by wet rot fungus due to long-term rain penetration and this was remedied by a combination of repair and salvage replacement of structural timber, incorporating a new skylight. The deck was re-waterproofed using a proprietary brand Waterproof Roofing System which comprised of a computer-generated insulated fall overlaying the timber structure with a vapour barrier, underlay membrane and primary capping sheet membrane, which is used as a wearing surface.
RESULT
A fully guaranteed waterproof roof deck was achieved allowing a dry space below for clients use within their retail units, also access was made possible for foot traffic over the roof deck.
